No lag here. Maybe get a better computer.

These are the kind of responses that really tick me off. Before making assumptions about the quality of his computer, how about asking what kind of setup he has? This kind of attitude doesn't help anyone...

Not much lag here. half second Egg timers, The Game runs a bit mroe chunkier (Characters dont walk straight without stopping atleast once due to lag) but its not laggy to hell. This is actually pretty good.

Been online since Nightfall event started, and have had no lag problem, lot's of new builts, yes.
Clean your computer, shutdown all chat programs, and stop downloading pornmovies from p2p sites while you play, this will improve the bandwith.

Was laggy yesterday, so I stopped playing. Can't wait to see what it's like today. And it isn't my computer, as it is normally non laggy. It isn't my connection, as I normally have P2P programs on, and still don't lag. It's the servers. Yes, I know some of you seem to have immense trouble placing any blame on your precious A.net gods, or finding fault in them in any way. But, sometimes, it is their fault.

Guild Wars is far and away the least buggy, least laggy MMO I've ever played. The downtime I've experienced is close to nil.

the only lag i got was wen everytime i got out with koss i crashed..
the game runs smooth for me, and if i got 1-2 err7 in the day its because i didnt install my new router yet...(old one is shit and keeps saying that a network cable is unpluged.)

Trust me, If I had lag I would not heisitate to give A-net some stick ( I give them hell when ever I can), but I have had no lag what so ever during this event , SO FAR.

and idiotic responses like this help about as much as the stupid arrogant 'get a better computer' ones.

2 points for this muppet

1. cant wait 0.5 of a second for skills to load? this guy has never played as an interrupter obviously as 0.5 of a second matters.

2. want him to go play WoW? great answer loser, do you only want gw for you and your little mates and everyone else who doesnt think like you should go play WoW? nice job, anet just decided gw isnt a viable product now and you have no servers to play on.

15 err7s throughout the event, none throughout the preceeding week. Nothing changed on my end - Anets servers couldn't handle it.

I've hardly played at all, mostly just looking through the skills or power-running through the early part of the preview to unlock skills, not even thinking about trying to do any competitive PVP at the moment. 2s delay on a monk is fatal.

and this gives them the chance to fix things before the real game comes out sherlock.

I'm sure they do Performance Testing on Guild Wars before every patch. Especially with something like this - considering the event is open to non-Guild Wars account holders.

I'd prefer that they actually planned for it in the first place... You put the contingencies in place so that the problem doesn't occur. If you put in far too much in the way of contingency, you scale it back next time.

It was blindingly obvious that this was going to severely increase server load, yet obviously there was not enough increase in server capacity despite prior knowledge that server demand was going to spike up.

This was meant to be an advertisement, the only thing it's advertised to me is that A-Net doesn't understand how to put in a capacity buffer.

so far after quite alot of play this weekend, ive had 1 tiny rubberband, n thats it.

I had loads of lag before this weekend, but my new gfx card arrived yestersay, so i assume the lag i suffered was comp based. mainly.

I did suffer fromt he curse of 3kbs downloads on a 1meg broadband service :/, but that can be expcted when lots of people are trying to download the patches fromt he servers, plus it wasnt really that bad, as the patches(at least for me) were tiny, in comparison to that 400meg one recently

Jus so you know, i play in europe, aka lag central, and havent even had 1 007 this weeked, so i am assuming anets servers are running ok.

To the OP:

This is what's called business..
Whether any of us really like it or not, the goal of any business, including Anet, is to make money. Doing events like this help gain new customers, and new customers = more money = good updates and more expansions for people like us.

Also, I havn't experienced any error 7's for over a year now. The only real problem I've had with the event is some lag every now and then.
